Help save the lives of children battling cancer by supporting THON. Becky Evans and Matt Rodriguez are taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised over $204 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children's Hospital. Throughout our partnership, we have ensured that over 4,800 families have not seen a single medical bill. In addition, the local research that is being done is making a global impact so that one day, we will find a cure. Each February, THON's yearlong efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. By supporting THON, you will be joining a community committed to conquering childhood cancer.
Becky Evans and Matt Rodriguez are two alumnus of Penn State University who have been involved with THON since their freshman year. They met and became best friends their junior year on Matt's Rules and Regulations (R&R) Committee: Matturday R&R For The Kids. Matt was an R&R Security captain and Becky was a Security Leader on his committee. Matt then went on to become a Dancer Relations captain his senior year, and Becky went on to become a R&R captain her senior year. Becky was also an active member of the Penn State Lionettes Dance team and was their Family Relations (FR) chair for 2 years, and served as THON chair her senior year. This year Becky and Matt are hoping to continue the battle against childhood cancer after graduating in 2019.
