Help save the lives of children battling cancer by supporting THON. English Equestrian Club is taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised over $204 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children's Hospital. Throughout our partnership, we have ensured that over 4,800 families have not seen a single medical bill. In addition, the local research that is being done is making a global impact so that one day, we will find a cure. Each February, THON's yearlong efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. By supporting THON, you will be joining a community committed to conquering childhood cancer.
The Pennsylvania State Equestrian Team has proudly been a part of THON for over 10 years! During this time we got to experience the beautiful impact that THON has on all of its four diamond families.
This year will be our 6th year with the Smiths, and our 2nd year with the Smericks. Each family has shown us firsthand the many opportunities that THON has provided for each family who is affected by Childhood Cancer. Alex who had been diagnosed with Leukemia at age 14 and was able to ring her treatment bell only 2 years later!! Additionally we are more than proud to announce Marissa was also able to end her treatment this past July after her battle with Neuroblastoma! During these moments, we are able to see just how important THON is by providing hundreds of children with the amazing opportunity to ring the famous bell signifying the end of their treatment. This team is beyond lucky to have a relationship with the Smiths and the Smericks, each one of us has a new outlook on life and that the fight against cancer is possible with the love and support of others.
The Pennsylvania State Equestrian Team dedicates its time to raising money so that one dayevery child diagnosed with Pediatric Cancer will get to dance in celebration as they beat their battle just like our girls did! Please help us help others in support against the toughest fight of their lives.
