Axis is taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers to raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised over $204 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children's Hospital. Axis was founded in 2011 and is a Special Interest Organization. Since its establishment in 2011, Axis has contributed $534,985.16 to THON, and has made it in the Top 10 fundraising Special Interest Organizations consecutively for the past six years! Each February, our yearlong fundraising efforts and support for the families culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon.

Axis has the honor of supporting our THON child, Ayrton Calvanelli. Ayrton was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was just two years old and immediately had brain surgery. He is now fourteen years old and conquers the challenges brought upon him after suffering a stroke post-surgery. The remaining tumor is currently stable and he inspires us all as he fights like a superhero every single day. With the support of his younger brother, Declan, his amazing parents, and Axis, Ayrton is unstoppable!
Axis, by definition, is the center around which everything revolves. As a THON organization, it is our goal to represent a culture that other organizations aim to adopt. Above everything, we put emphasis on remembering why we participate in THON and who we serve.
