Growing up is a beautiful thing. Let’s fight for it.

Hi! My name is Hannah, and for the past three years I have been actively involved in THON through multiple through multiple organizations. My freshman year, I raised money for THON  through the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. The past two years I have raised money for THON as a member of  the Penn State Crew team, and I will finish out my final year here at Penn State as a THON Chair for Crew. THON is important to me because I want every kid to have the chance to be a kid. Every child deserves to live their dreams and to grow up to be what they’ve always hoped to be. By dancing in THON 2019, I will be dancing for more smiles, more birthdays, and more tomorrows. I THON so that no child has to miss out on the wonderful things life has to offer.

Hi! My name is Ashlee! I went to my first THON as a freshman and that was when I first started to take interest and understand what is was truly about. After that, I fundraised with my organization, SSAE, by canning andcanvassing. Junior year, I joined my first committee, OPP, and absolutely loved it. For the first time, I experienced the atmosphere on the floor and had the opportunity to play with the kids. It was life-changing. On top of dancing, this year I hope to be on another committee and continue fundraising for SSAE. THON is important to me because every child deserves the opportunity to impact the world. Every child deserves the opportunity to become a scientest, an astronaut, a firefighter, the president- whatever his/her heart desires. No parent should ever have to hear the words "Your child has cancer" and not one child's life should ever be cut short. Until one day when we can all dance in celebration, I dance to show the world what cancer cannot do.

THON is a cause that we feel very passionate about. From doing line dances in our living room, to watching recap videos, to donating and helping the THON community whenever possible, we try to keep the cause close to our hearts everyday.  Standing in the BJC with 16,000 of our fellow Penn Staters for 46 hours in the battle against childhood cancer is a feeling unlike any other. If given the opportunity to join in this fight as an Independent Dancer Couple, we will be raising money for the kids, for the families, and for the cure.

Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THONTM. Together, Ashlee Bacvinskas & Hannah Lynes, are taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and funding critical research to take this fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.

Ashlee Bacvinskas & Hannah Lynes have been working tirelessly all year with the hopes of being selected to dance in THON 2019. Independent Dancer Couples are dedicated individuals who set up their own fundraisers throughout the year, and with the support of friends and family, will obtain tickets in a lottery system in the hopes of earning a spot as dancers in the Penn State Dance Marathon. With your contribution, you will bring Ashlee Bacvinskas & Hannah Lynes one step closer to being able to take a stand against childhood cancer during THON Weekend 2019.
