Alpha Kappa Psi : Co-Ed Business Fraternity

Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed Professional Business Fraternity. We currently have 97 brothers and we are going to be bringing in a new inductee class soon! We pride ourselves on our three pillars: Professional, Social, Philanthropic. Alpha Kappa Psi is truly a brotherhood of highly intelligent and impassioned young adults who go on to work at prestigious companies like UBS, McKinsey, IBM, PwC, Deloitte, and more.

Alpha Kappa Psi THON

The best part of Alpha Kappa Psi THON are our two THON families – the Tyler Bryant family and the Matthew Rodriguez family. After a heroic fight, Tyler lost his battle to brain cancer in 2016 at the age of 10. He loved soccer and the Seattle Seahawks and brought joy to everyone around him. We remember Tyler through his sister, Kali (16), and brother, Hunter (12). Although we can no longer be with Tyler, we still stay involved with Kali, Hunter, and their mom, Ashley, by hosting as many events as we can. Some of these events include a football tailgate (Hunter got to meet some PSU football players!), driving to watch Hunter play his own football game, and we helped Kali get ready for her homecoming dance, too! THON gives the Bryants hope after such a tragic loss.

This past year we were so lucky to have been given the Rodriguez family! Matthew is 7 years old with two younger sisters, Alyssa and Alaina. He loves hockey and playing board games with his family and any companion he can convince. Matthew is currently in and out of the hospital battling against cancer, but he is a fighter. We hope to have many events with the Rodriguez family this coming year and get to know Matthew and his family!

Make an impact in the life of a child today

When you decide to support THON™, you become a partner in the ongoing fight against childhood cancer.  Our organization, Alpha Kappa Psi, along with 16,500 student volunteers and more than 25,000 alumni, work tirelessly to support more than 3,700 families at Penn State Children’s Hospital. These efforts culminate in a 46 hour, no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon held every February. As the largest student run philanthropy in the world, our mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research - all in pursuit of a cure. Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million dollars, For The Kids™! Last year alone, the THON community raised $10,151,663.93, generating the funds to support:

  • 50,227 hours of nutritional therapy

  • 66,970 days of outpatient therapy

  • 13,394 research experiments

  • 6,697 days to manage all patient needs

  • 13,394 routine maintenance visits for therapy and treatment for a child

THON's hope is for every child to have the opportunity to live out their childhood dreams. Despite advancements in research and treatment, this may not become a reality for some. With your help, we will continue to fight for the day that no parent has to hear the words, “your child has cancer.” It takes each and every student, volunteer, alumnus, donor, and supporter to spread awareness of THON’s mission across the country and throughout the world. With your dedication and support of THON, together, we will make a difference in the life of a child. Join us in the fight, For The Kids.
