Boulevard is a community service organization that strives to make a difference within the State College community and beyond. Boulevard provides students with a place to call their own at Penn State’s 46,000 student campus. Lifelong friendships and bonds are made with every event held. We pride ourselves in truly being a family, and continuing to Pave the Road to a Better Future. Each year, our organization hosts numerous community service events including events heavily participates in the Penn State Dance Marathon, the world’s largest student run philanthropy. Affectionately known as THON, our Dance Marathon benefits a non-profit organization, the Four Diamonds Fund, which is dedicated to both finding a cure for pediatric cancer and financially assisting families with children undergoing treatment at Penn State’s Hershey Medical Center. Boulevard is proud to have raised over $423,000 towards THON since we were founded in 2011.

Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and fund critical research to take our fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.

THON allows organizations to be matched with Four Diamonds families so that every student volunteer has the opportunity to offer personal support to the families that we work tirelessly for and form a true connection to the cause that we are fighting for. Boulevard is lucky to have been paired with two Four Diamonds families. Thalia Splawn, 21, is a survivor of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and has been cancer free for 15 years. Colby Bubb, 13, is a brain cancer survivor and is nearing his two-year cancer free mark! Our members have supported these families through tough times, and the families have done the same for us in return. We hold multiple events throughout the year that involve each of our families, giving each member a unique and special THON experience. Additionally, because of our families, our members are able to see directly where our fundraising efforts go -- inspiring them to fight even harder.

Your contribution will fund innovative research that will not only enhance treatment for children in Pennsylvania but is also giving hope to childhood cancer patients worldwide! Together, with every student, volunteer, alumnus, donor, and supporter, we can spread awareness of THON's mission across the country and throughout the world. With your support of THON, together, we will make a difference in the lives of children nationwide. Join us in the fight, For The Kids.

Organizations play a key role in helping THON fulfill its mission of conquering childhood cancer. Throughout the year, Organizations contribute to the efforts of thousands of Penn State students across all campuses by facilitating fundraisers and providing emotional support to Four Diamonds Families. Boulevard works alongside these Organizations with the common goal of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
