Growing up is a beautiful thing. Let’s fight for it.
Our THON child, Ryan Arevalo.
This is our THON child, Ryan Arevalo. Ryan was diagnosed on September 3, 2014 with Medulloblastoma (a brain tumor.) Ryan recently just had his 6 month MRI and his scans were all clear!
Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THONTM. Our Organization, Whiplash Dance Team, is taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand--all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and funding critical research to take this fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.
Organizations play a key role in helping THON fulfill its mission of conquering childhood cancer. Throughout the year, Organizations contribute to the efforts of thousands of Penn State students across all campuses by facilitating fundraisers and providing emotional support to Four Diamonds Families. Whiplash Dance Team works alongside these Organizations with the common goal of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
