Growing up is a beautiful thing. Let’s fight for it.
The Public Relations Committee serves as the voice of THON to spread awareness for THON’s mission on a local, state, and national level. These efforts are aimed at raising awareness for childhood cancer and inspiring the public to join Penn State students in their pursuit of a cure, For the Kids.
Committee Members will play an integral role in spreading awareness about childhood cancer and THON’s mission by utilizing marketing techniques and campaigns to promote THON around State College and beyond, as well as ensuring the public remains informed about upcoming events and THON’s efforts.
Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THONTM. Our committee, Public Relations, is taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon each February to celebrate our survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and take a stand - all in hopes of one day dancing in celebration of a cure.
Since 1977, THON has raised over $157 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive care for 4,000 families and funding critical research to take this fight beyond central Pennsylvania and spread hope around the world. We work year-round to provide both financial and emotional support for our families, ensuring that they never have to face cancer alone.
THON Committees play a key role in helping THON fulfill its mission of conquering childhood cancer. As Committee Members, students plan for and attend THON events as part of a team dedicated to making THON a success year after year, Public Relations plays an integral role in the continued success of THON.
